Ebony
tree of the family Ebenaceae (Ebony tree, Sapodilla)
Etymology: from Greek ebenos, and of the hebeny Egyptian.
Origin: Equatorial Africa and Asia. The ebony tree attains its grown-up size at the end of 40 years, then its trunk grows.
Use: its wood (ebony), very hard and heavy (heavier than the water: It sinks!), serves in the building or for the sculpture. The black piano keys are made of ebnoy.
