Fagus sylvatica Zlatia or Spar beech: horticultural variety with leaves of yellow colour, in summer, which turn to green then to reddish-brown in autumn.

Copper Beech (to the right) F. sylvatica purpurea, natural mutation noticed in Switzerland in 1680 and in Germany in 1772. F. sylvatica atropunicea is a crimson, more dark cultivar still.
