Longan
tree of the family Sapindaceae (Lichee, Varnish Tree, Xanthoceras)

Etymology: from chinese word long - yen, "oil of dragon" for its fruit, the longan, close to the lichee.
Origin: Tropical Asia. Its fruits (longans) are edible.
